Role: To serve as an advisory resource to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities: To provide input into the planning and development of future programs and services that will inspire, celebrate and promote young S.T.E.M. students. Meet via Google Chat on a monthly basis.

Dr. John DeFinney – Chiropractor, Lecturer, Founding Member Of The College Of Chiropractic Sports Science

Dr. John De Finney – Chiropractor, Lecturer, Founding Member Of The College Of Chiropractic Sports Science

Dr. John De Finney is a bilingual chiropractor with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and a Specialty in Sports Chiropractic. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 1976. He is also one of the founding members of the College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences and one of its first three Fellows. Dr. De Finney is also still involved in a variety of recreational sports and has won national titles as an age class runner. He has lectured at the undergraduate and post graduate level in sports injuries and published articles on the topic of running. “The Running Chiropractor” has recently completed a course in a new soft tissue therapy, Trigenics®, and has joined the Trigenics Institute and serves as its research consultant with specific interest in running and sport injuries and rehabilitation.

Paula Cashen – Knowledgable, Inspirational Teacher & Science Fair Expert

Paula Frances (Welcher) Cashen, born, raised, educated in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education degrees, she began her teaching career at Saint Stephens school in Halifax. After teaching Grade seven for six years she found herself living in Toronto accompanying  her husband who was transfered there. Five years later a move to Vancouver, and two years after that a move back to Toronto. Stability enabled her to renew her love of teaching. She began a twenty year career as a Grade eight teacher at John XXIII separate school in Unionville in 1984. Chairing science fairs from school level to board level, being principal designate directing concerts, talent shows Olympic days,Luke 4:18,were just a few of the activities that added to her enjoyment. But most importantly she loved her students. She would say “I could always find something to like even in the worst” Retiring in 2004 she relishes in the achievements of her many students ,moms,  dads,owners of companies, Vets, Dr’s health and wellness practices, landscapers and the list goes on. She lives in Unionville and continues to work with a select number of young people.

Rocky Khasow – Mechanical Engineering & MASc Student at the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences at UOIT

Rocky Khasow is currently a MASc student at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. His research focuses on underbody aerodynamics of automobiles. He received his BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and has nearly three years of experience in various manufacturing fields.

Mugdha Khondker – Grade 12 Student and Project Researcher at McMaster University

Adree Khondker is currently a Grade 12 Student and Project Researcher at McMaster University in the field of Condensed-Matter Physics and Biophysics. His research focuses on the interactions between drugs and lipid membranes. He is currently developing a novel macromolecular visualization software to display these interactions. Adree has received medals in the National Science Fair and distinction from institutes such as the Yale School of Engineering and SPIE.
