Adelina Cozma


Adelina has been participating in science fairs each year since seventh grade, she developed a great passion for neuroscience and she is motivated to become a neurosurgeon and biomedical researcher. She represented Canada at the 2010, 2011 and 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fairs, winning first place awards from the American Psychological Association and the International Honour Society in Psychology, and either second or third place in Behavioural and Social Sciences. In 2008, 2009 and 2012, she won gold and silver medals in Health Sciences at the Canada-Wide National Science Fairs and best-in-fair awards at the regional competitions. In 2012 Adelina’s research efforts have been rewarded with first place awards from the Canadian Psychological Association, the Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation, and the National Research Council of Canada. Adelina is a Shad Valley Laval University alumnus and a past student researcher at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She is currently continuing her research at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute in Calgary and staying involved with science fairs as an editor and ambassador program manager for the Canadian Young Scientist Journal. In her spare time, Adelina enjoys playing tennis and learning new languages.
